Supervising companion

Universal Studios Hollywood was primarily a theme park for adults.  

However, in recent years, they have introduced more family-friendly rides, such as Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem, DreamWorks Theatre Featuring Kung Fu Panda, Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash, and Flight of the Hippogriff. 

These additions have transformed the park into a destination that appeals to visitors of all age groups.

If a child meets the minimum height requirement for a ride but is under 48″ tall, they must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion.

A Supervising Companion must be at least 14 years old, meet all other requirements for the ride, and be able to help the child follow rider instructions.

Child Switch and how it works 

All rides at Universal Studios Hollywood offer this ‘child switch’ option, also known as ‘Rider Switch’ or ‘Child Swap.’ 

This is a great way to guarantee that everyone in your group can enjoy the attractions they want without waiting twice.

If your kids are too young or not interested in a ride you want to enjoy, Universal Studios Hollywood offers a handy “child switch” program. 

Each ride and attraction has a family room where one adult can stay with the young children while the rest of your group experiences the ride. 

After they’ve had their turn, you can switch roles. 

The Child Switch Room is especially useful if your child can’t board a ride due to height restrictions or simply doesn’t want to go on it. 

One or two adults can wait with the child in the room, and when the rest of your group returns, those who waited can take their turn on the ride.
